Making the Move

How to Choose an eXp Sponsor

The brokerage is the same for everyone. Your sponsor and the group behind them are what actually differ — and the choice is effectively permanent.

Choose it like you would choose a business partner.

What to look for

You want someone whose day-to-day work you would benefit from being near: currently producing or currently leading producers, with systems you can use immediately.

  • Active production or active leadership, not just a big downline
  • Training you can attend this week, on a real calendar
  • Named people responsible for onboarding and contract help
  • Culture of collaboration rather than pressure
  • Willingness to tell you when the fit is wrong

Questions to ask a sponsor

Push for specifics.

  • What happens in my first 30 days with you?
  • How many agents do you personally support, and how?
  • What do you train on, and can I sit in before I join?
  • Who do I call when something breaks on a transaction?
  • What do you expect from me?

Warning signs

Pressure, urgency, income projections, vague answers about support, and conversations that never touch your actual business are all reasons to slow down.

Honest considerations

  • •Sponsor selection is effectively permanent — do not rush it.
  • •Big organizations do not automatically mean strong support.
  • •Sit in on a training call before you decide.

Where Team Legacy fits

We would rather you interview three groups and pick the right one than join fast and feel unsupported. Sit in on our training first — then decide.

Our positioning is simple: build a real estate business that fits your life, not a life that fits your real estate business. See what that looks like in practice.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change my eXp sponsor later?

In practice, no. Treat the sponsor decision as permanent and choose deliberately.

Does my sponsor cost me anything?

No. Sponsorship does not change your commission split or fees; revenue share is paid from company revenue.

What should I ask a potential sponsor?

What happens in your first 30 days, who supports transactions, what training runs weekly, and what they expect from you.
